From the Universe

Last week a friend of mine introduced me to the website, Tut's Adventures.  What this website is is nothing short of inspirational!  You sign up, tell it a couple of your goals and dreams and it sends you emails Monday - Friday that are positive, uplifting and inspirational.  Right now in my life I'm all about being more positive, hell who wants to be a debbie downer anyways?!  NOT ME!  I just signed up for this Friday so I received my first note today.

Have you ever considered, Hayley, that you would never even have chosen to
be Hayley Whatley if the upside wasn't "ALL OF THE ABOVE"?

After all, it's not like you aren't picky.  I so love that in you.

Proud as can be,
The Universe

Yes, I know it's random but I love that about it.  It definitely puts a smile on my face, which is exactly what I strive for daily.  If you need more good, positive energy in your life, sign up....you won't be disappointed.

New Seasons Bring Change

My apologies for not posting since, I don't even know when!  I've had a lot going on in my life and haven't really taken the time to do me.  Considering what this blog stands for, for me; to happily live in the moment, I needed to get back to me...channel the inner child and push forward.  Remember the days when we were kids and life was lollipops and gum balls?  When the only thing that made you sad or mad was when you fell off your bike or when your mom made you come inside before all your friends.  I sometimes ask myself what happened to that little girl.  When did life as we used to know it change?  I often feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and I'm just dying to be a kid again, somehow logically thinking that's the only way it'll make things better.  HA!  A good friend of mine told me the other day "Embrace where you are in life.  Don't get down on yourself - it's all in your head.  You're creating the drama - don't!  Give yourself a break - you need it.  And remember YOU and ONLY you decide how long you will agonize over something."  When I heard this, all made sense.  Yes, change is hard and difficult but if it wasn't for change I wouldn't be the person I am today.  We are all going to have ups and downs throughout our lives.  With the good times you'll think you've never had it so good.  With the bad times you'll think I've never gone through something so hard.  But remember God is making you go through this to get you ready for something else in your life.  We all tend to dwell on the past and fear the future but you have to keep reminding yourself that in order to live in the present you need to be present.  No more agonizing the past or future, instead be present in the moment, be present in the present.  Life is too short to be anything but happy.  Don't settle for anything less!

And the Winner is........

Since starting in the blogging world I've learned how to follow other cool bloggers that share the same interests as I.  I've also seen in many-a-blogs, giveaways....which is like one of the coolest words ever!  I don't know why I get so excited knowing how crappy my luck is but decided to enter in these giveaways that I find.  I entered in a giveaway at Clemson Girl and I WON!  OMG how cool!  I'm so so excited!  I won a personalized koozie from Marley Lilly and can't wait until it comes in the mail!  It'll definitely be my koozie of choice during football season.
How cute right?!
You should absolutely go to her Etsy store to check out all the cute personalized things she does!  These might be my "go to" gifts for Christmas!  Even though I don't have alot of "followers" and I know I need to wait to get more in order to have my own giveaway but I wonder how these bloggers acquire all these cool presents for their giveaways!?!  Hmmmm......

Arts and Crafts

Over the weekend I took it back old school and had myself an arts and crafts day.  When I was younger my mom had our kitchen island FULL of arts and crafts, which I was totally into.  I would invite my friends over not to play but to "make something"....yes I was a dork in that sense but it has definitely helped me become a more creative person.  I probably have that to blame for the reason I chose to major in Art and then realized, after talks with mom and dad, that I probably wouldn't find a decent paying job out of college so I switched to Sociology....much better, right?!  HA!

I'm all about decorating my home with art done locally which gives me a bigger sense of pride.  Right now a friend is working on a painting for me to hang in my dining room and I can't WAIT for it to be completed!  I'll of course show it off once hung!  There's so much cute decor out there that looks handmade I decided to give it a try myself.

Here is the wreath I made Sunday for football season!  I'm so proud of it, even though my mom AND dad have both told me it looks like a life preserver.  Hell it picks up on the coastal vibe of my home, which was totally unintentional but fitting! ;)  Until next time Happy Coasting!

Football Kickoff Weekend!

It has finally arrived, my favorite time of year....FOOTBALL SEASON!  Here in the South you're either a Tiger or a Gamecock and when it comes to me, my blood truly runneth orange!  I'm especially looking forward to this weekend because I, along with some friends, have rented a lake house to celebrate the return of fall, football, bourbon and oysters!  Even though it's a little too early in the season for the cooler weather of fall, the yummy oysters and the warming bourbon we are going to party like it's 1999 ;)  I'm interested to see all the southern belles and the seersuckered gentlemen in their gameday digs.  Unlike up in the North or NFL games where they wear jersey's and t-shirts, down here we like to go all out and dress to impress with lily dresses and pearls.  I still haven't decided what I'm going to wear and I have to admit that I'm stressing out a little because I've NEVER waited up to the last minute to find my outfit.  Clemson fans, or at least friends of mine, we spend all year buying all the orange and purple we can find just so we can look our best and support our tigers for their season.  I ordered quite a few things online but as luck would have it they weren't at all what I had expected.  I better get shopping!  Until next time, here's a homage to my Clemson Tigers!  GO TIGERS!!!!

Welcome!

So here I am, Hayley, new to the blogging world.  Nice to meet you!  This is my attempt to live in the moment, happily....and, of course, share it with you.  I'm assuming everything new evolves so bear with me as I learn the ins and outs of my new venture.
